Sorry I haven't written in a while.
I went to Cambodia for 3 weeks because I can only be in Sri Lanka 6 months at a time on the tourist visa, and it was just so amazing, I hadn't been to that part of Asia before. Staying in Phenom Penh for me was such a shock really compared to here. So clean and apart from driving, orderly, peaceful, and the sense of freedom. The country is picking up again since the civil war, and it was just so nice to be able to go on rides in the evening, see everyone out with their families, drink a smoothy on a stall, ride on the back of the scooter all over the place, it was just so much fun. The shops too
Then as my friend who I met in Mozambique is with YWAM I got to see what was going on and how it is with that organization. I was able to go on a couple of evangelisation outings at the relocation place, that is where all slum and homeless people were taken to get them out of the capital, and I was able to speak with one lady, and in the end she got healed and s
I got back here nearly 2 weeks ago now. I am slowly getting stuff for my room, and I think that I am quite nicely settled there, especially with the unfinished puzzle in the middle of the floor.
People have been so kind to me, they cook my dinners, even yesterday, one family offered to cook all my meals for a little while, and even bought me a rice cooker! Some people here I am having difficulty with, but on the really hard days, there is always someone really nice who makes an appearance and that brings my hopes up!!
My new vision for the next step is to go and give free English lessons in the East...Not many people seem to be with me on this one! In fact....approximatly...none for the time being!! It's rather dangerous with the kidnappings and so on that is still going on there and the murders, and so on even though the war is over on that side...but where there is darkness God's light must shine...and it's not going to be brighter there if no one goes to light the place up...but some don't quite understand this yet!! So it's going to be interesting how the doors are going to open up....
So that is it for now really...I have resumed all my previous duties...the school, English lessons, Youth Group and Sunday school, so quite busy again, but I have decided, that Saturdays are for me....my day of rest...it's quite important to have one so as not to get swamped, to be able to have a time to just stop...When I got to Phenom Penh, I realized just how tired I was, and I slept for many hours for a few days! There is a statistic, where about 90% of missionary type people in their 20's get burned out and stop their mission work....I really don't want to join that statistic...so I take precautionary measures!!
Thankyou for reading and your support!!
